Apture – a review and more enabled sites
Very well written post about Apture here
The first few paragraphs give a good account of the problems that Apture actually solves, much better approach than going straight into the has these really cool features approach that most reviews adopt.
One of the best things you can do for yourself when writing for the Web is to break up your text with images, video, and other multimedia that add interest to your blog or article. Apture can help you find and embed multimedia on your blog without having to work with embed code or go hunting around the Web before you’ve finished writing your blog entry.
This is followed by a detailed account of how to set up Apture including signing up and installing. It really is a breeze.
Adding multimedia to your blog is simple: Just move your mouse over the place you’d like to insert a video or image and click to bring up the Apture Media Hub, an applet that allows you to search for video, images, maps, music, or other documents you’d like to embed. If you like, you can upload your own media and use Apture to embed it without having to go back to your blog editor.
The article finishes up by describing the really cool features, but this is OK as the problem that the application sets out to solve has already been defined. A few Apture using sites are also referenced:
….Apture to manage their content, including the Washington Post, BBC News, O’Reilly Radar, SFGate, and even the South African government.
Which adds sfgate and O’Reilly Radar to the list of sites already gleaned.
