Annie Leibovitch financial woes
This is just one of those strange sad stories that makes me realize that rich famous people actually are not just like me.
Annie Leibovitch has always been one of my heroes, she had an eye and a sense of timing that I’ve seldom seen from other photographers. While others prefer the “classical” photographers I’ve liked the pop ones, the grabshot, the quirky moment caught.
Great with the art, not so much with the more mundane matters of life.
In addition to the lawsuit for more than $700k from unpaid vendors, Leibovitz reportedly used the cash to pay back taxes and finance “a lengthy, costly and litigious renovation on the three adjoining town houses.” Why one would pawn their town houses in order to raise money to renovate them, I do not know.
