O’Donnell surgically dismantles the Cheneys

This is Lawrence O’Donnell’s wonderful rebuttal or rather wholesale destruction of Liz Cheney’s preemptive defense of her war criminal father.

Lawrence O’Donnell is probably providing the best critique of the Bush / Cheney excesses to be found anywhere in the media. This guy gets it and has taken the time to do the hard thinking required to arrive at good solid conclusions that will become the history of the past 8 years. Fox News, the Cheneys and Rove et. al. can keep hammering the revisionism, whether for history or prosecutorial reasons, but ultimately they will lose as their entire case is based on lies.

Just a quick note – the Liz Cheney liefest was all over the media and the internet tubes yesterday yet it was nigh on impossible to find this clip and I still cannot find a transcript. This is a really important piece of TV and needs to be distributed widely. Thanks to Media Matters for finally making it available.

Another quick note. The Republicans are trying any line to make this go away, we’ve had the Banana Republic offense, the waterboarding is not torture defense, the few bad apple defense, today they seem to be running with the everybody knew about this so everyone is equally guilty defense. Wonder what they’ll have for us tomorrow.
