Joe The Plumber on Palin
Some things in life are just too good to pass up and this was one of them. One of the most ridiculous figures ever to enter the political theater pontificating on another of the most ridiculous figures to enter the political theater.
The excellent Editor and Publisher cannot be thanked enough for this this. If I am correct the interview itself was conducted by Charles Geraci.
Here are some highlights:
Joe doesn’t think that Palin should run for the presidency in 2012
“I hope she doesn’t (run) because I think she could do a lot for America outside of office,” Wurzelbacher said. “And I think she could rally Americans to get together and make some changes from the grassroots level. I think she could be an incredible rallying point, and I think that’s where she could serve America best.”
Which is actually pretty generous considering Palin accused Joe of capitalizing on the publicity he got out of the 2008 election. Sit back and savor that for a moment, The half baked Alaskan totally redefined political opportunism taking it to levels never before imagined. The pot calling the kettle black?
Anyway, we know that Joe wasn’t an opportunist because he says this:
To those who charge Wurzelbacher has “capitalized on my 15 minutes of fame,” he disagrees, telling E&P, “I’m a year into this, and I am not rich by no means. My book is out of print. I’m selling the last remaining copies. I did not expect enormous dollars from it. It’s just what it is. I haven’t gotten behind any merchandise. I haven’t sold out.”
I suspect that this was due more to a lack of opportunity rather than Joe’s deep seated integrity. If I remember correctly he certainly tried to milk his fifteen minutes for all it was worth.
Joe goes on to espouse the standard Teabag platform:
Doesn’t like Obama
Obama is unamerican (read black)
Congress is the work of satan
Illegal Immigrants and hispanics very bad
McCain bad for perceived support of illegal imigrants and hispanics
Then, just to prove a standard issue, right wing nut job hater of everything that is different to them can never have to much cognitive dissonance going on Joe adds:
“I want to show people that they can get some notoriety and maybe do some good with it. I do my best to do some charity work. I do my best to ask Americans to get involved.”
If anyone has any evidence of Joe the Plumber’s charity work please let us all know what it is – think I’ll start a Joe the Charity Worker watch.
