Writing about Evan Bayh’s complete lack of principle is like shooting a whale in a thimble – it is far to easy, he doesn’t even try very hard anymore. He seems to know that he is seen as a weasel on both sides of the political divide and is happy to have fun with it.

Glen Greenwald, possibly the most astute political commentator around today rips him a new one over at Salon: Bayh’s appearance with the empty suit known as Chris Wallace over on the Fox not the news Channel provided a target rich environment.

An aside, is there are more bland combination of interviewer and interviewee possible?

The conventional wisdom that to win as a Democrat in a purple/red state like Indiana is crap. It is the stronger Dems that do well in heavily contested elections not the ones who are weaselly. One thing that independents loathe is perceived weakness. We need to find a strong candidate to mount a serious primary challenge ASAP.
