Poster project latest

Here is the first of three posters currently at the printers. All the posters consist of a single photo with the Indiana dunes as a part. These will be sold at Lifestyles, Lincoln Way, Valparaiso, IN and Marquette Perk, Miller Beach IN.

All posters are 16″ x 12″

Will hopefully have them in both outlets by the beginning of September (2008).

Indiana Dunes yet again

Here is a pic of a lump of wood. I thought it looked interesting and realize that I may be in a minority of one but just in case I’m not……..

At any rate, I have received a request for some posters of the Dunes and that was the reason for the shoot. I wasn’t just mucking about honest!

More on the poster saga.

The posters arrived from the printers on Friday. The quality of the black and white ones was superb, flawless unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the color ones. The latter were just about acceptable for the price but all showed very faint parallel lines common to a home printer that isn’t calibrated properly. But as stated I cannot praise the quality of the monochrome ones more highly.

Consequently I am hoping that the BW ones really sell well and that we can move over to all black and white. I prefer designing in mono anyway.

I spent all Friday evening rolling and sleeving the posters, it is not the most exciting job in the world but if I had to do it for 4 hours a day I wouldn’t complain! - saying that if there was 4 hours packaging a day needed I would employ someone else to do it.

The owner of the Marquette Perk (corner of Shelby and Locust) are now stocked up with 20 of each design and the owner is going to purchase frames for display over the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing what he does with them. The space contains work by half a dozen local artists and crafters.

So, One retailer down, tens to go, hopefully the next update will consist of news of both our first sales and our next outlet.
