Saturday, August 23rd, 2008Here is the first of three posters currently at the printers. All the posters consist of a single photo with the Indiana dunes as a part. These will be sold at Lifestyles, Lincoln Way, Valparaiso, IN and Marquette Perk, Miller Beach IN.
All posters are 16″ x 12″
Will hopefully have them in both outlets by the beginning of September (2008).
Lutheran Chapel @ Valpo University
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008Took a stroll around Valparaiso University campus with the intention of taking some pictures for a small commission. The light wasn’t very cooperative so I will have to go back, probably at sun rise to get some dramatic shots. Modern architecture usually benefits from the hard light of a sunny noon but I think there is potential for something a little different.
Anyway, here are the, admittedly picture postcardy, results of todays efforts. A fair amount of post production went into these to get the colors to work on any level.
Porter County Admin building Valparaiso
Monday, July 28th, 2008This is another pic of the Porter County Admin building. This one has been edited in Photoshop:
lens correction to remove barrel effect common with cheaper lenses at wide angles. The focal length for this shot was around 30mm efl.
Color channels adjusted to give BW image (much more control than just hitting the greyscale button. This enabled the contrast between the building and the sky to be really jacked up.
Converging verticals. Really easy using Photoshop’s crop tool.
Valpo Courthouse

It has been cropped, lens corrected, converted to black and white and the converging verticals have been removed.
