Apture partner with Slideshare
Something new from Apture – along with videos, images, microblogs, music and files slideshows can now be embedded and linked using their layer. Here is an example, partly chosen because biological subjects seem to lend themselves to slideshow type presentations.

Great News for Apture and web publishers

In a nut shell, Apture have secured a pretty decent chunk of funding. The Techcrunch article is well worth a read as besides breaking the great news also gives a pretty decent albeit simplified account of how the software actually functions.
Apture has already been tested by BBC, Reuters and the Washington Post, and The New York Times is also said to be experimenting with the service.
The NYT part of this quote is a really interesting, getting a fourth top tier media player involved at this stage is potentially huge.

Can Sar unsurprisingly Apture enabled
Can sar’s blog cover’s much ground yet does so with a depth that is rare in the blogosphere at large. topics as diverse as military strategy and the current economic crisis are covered with an objective clear voice.
Oh, and the unsurprising Apture thing? Can is one of the Apture founders working on the software side of the business.

Apture and Twitter
Apture have snuck in a potentially big improvement to their blog enhancement technology. They are now integrating twitter. I have only played with this for a few minutes so it may be capable of a whole lot more than I have discovered.
The biggest potential as far as I can see lies in embedding Twitter searches into blog pages. This means that, say I was writing about a new Nikon camera I could embed a Twitter search but that that search would be always up to date. In other words what we really have is a very sophisticated mechanism for embedding feeds.
