Legislating is Such Hard Work
Claire McCaskill will probably agree that this was not her most intelligent statement. Always a good idea to at least pay lip service to the idea that it is a privilege to serve and usually a good idea not to sound like a whiny overtired four year old.
“After you do one really, really big, really, really hard thing that makes everybody mad, I don’t think anybody’s excited about doing another really, really big thing that’s really, really hard that makes everybody mad,” Sen. Claire McCaskill said. “Climate fits that category.”

Ezra Klein wrote that he almost junked his WaPo post built around this statement. He did soften it by stating that many senators think similar thoughts. The Wonkette scribe had no such qualms:

Personally I haven’t got much sympathy for McCaskill, she was elected largely with the the work and money of progressive Democrats and has been running to the right ever since. She has made several missteps over health care reform and completely failed to grasp the depth of feeling on the pro reform side while pandering to the RWNJs whenever they have said boo.
