Web map based on Tokyo subway
Interesting idea, a map of the Tokyo subway with the 333 most influential web domains and 111 most influential people used in place of stations. The lines represent large categories, two examples are opinions and sharing. The level of influence and other factors are indicated by choice of station (more central more influential) and height and width of icon.
The project is still in Beta but looks pretty impressive so far.
About the Techcrunch commissioned map
This is on the Zoomerama website so it is pretty good. Watch out for the zoom control though as it is not very intuitive.
I am intrigued by the exact selection process and just how much subjectivity was involved. Wonder if the methodology will be released.
